Incline Village Crystal Bay Matters Posted on May 23, 2022 by WebadminMay 23, 2022

Author: Mike Abel, Incline Village resident The IVGID Board is soon to take up an issue that may dramatically affect the value of your Incline property. You only need to drive by Sand Harbor on a summer weekend to know that the private restricted access beaches in Incline Village are a really special asset. You also may not know that Washoe County of which Incline Village is an unincorporated subdivision enacted … Continue reading →

IVGID loses motion in Mark Smith public records case.

Incline Village Crystal Bay Matters Posted on July 13, 2021 by WebadminJuly 13, 2021

The District judge’s decision could result in IVGID having to pay Mr. Smith’s attorneys fees. Most public agencies try to settle and avoid costly protracted lawsuits. IVGID, because it is sustained by a seemingly limitless fee assessed on property owners, seldom makes any serious attempt to settle with anyone who wants public records and is forced to sue when requests are denied. https://thisisreno.com/2021/07/incline-village-general-improvement-district-told-again-it-has-to-cough-up-public-records/ What are they trying to hide?

Transit hub at old Incline Elementary School

Incline Village Crystal Bay Matters Posted on May 24, 2021 by WebadminMay 24, 2021

TTD has not yet identified the matching funds required to continue with the purchase of the old Incline Elementary School. Local citizen, Aaron Katz, sent documentation to Washoe County staff and the Commissioners specifying the requirements that WC-1 funds be used only for those projects as described in a list provided to voters when the bond measure was passed and only for the purposes of regional parks and trails. The WC-1 funding was not approved at the April 27 meeting. Commissioner Alexis Hill stated the item would come back to the commissioners in May once the language was clarified, however, … Continue reading →

Who decides how IVGID’s facility fees are spent?

Incline Village Crystal Bay Matters Posted on May 24, 2021 by WebadminMay 24, 2021

On Wednesday, May 26, the IVGID Board is expected to approve the first reduction ($50) in the combined Recreation/Beach Facility Fees in over a decade. For those new to the community, IVGID’s Rec Facility Fee and Beach Facility Fee (amounting to nearly $7 million a year) , although they appear on your property tax bill, are not set by the State, nor are they based on assessed valuation. Instead, every parcel/dwelling unit with beach access is assessed the same amount which is determined annually by the IVGID Board. Every year IVGID is supposed to tell the Board what is “required” … Continue reading →
